Addison Rapper & Clog
Addison are a group based in Ryton, in the west of the borough of Gateshead, were formed in 1977 and are named after the nearby Addison pit. The men's side performs the rapper dances of Winlaton, Swalwell and High Spen. The women's side perform local clog dances.
The side is a regular attender at local and national festivals, and frequent entrant to the Premier Class at DERT, although victory has always eluded them thus far (but only by 1 point at DERT 2000). After missing DERT in the last few years, Addison entered last year's DERT in Newcastle.
